Training session on the identification of Scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha) (second edition)

From 16 June 2026 to 17 June 2026

We are excited to formally invite you to this year's EURL I&M training on scale insect identification!

For the first time this training will be organized by both consortium partners (ANSES and AGES) and will encompass training for the morphological identification as well as molecular identification. Specifically, this two-level training will include:

  • 1. An online session on the 10th of June including both a morphological (morning) and molecular part (afternoon).
  • 2. An on-site training, taking place on the 16th and 17th of June at AGES in Vienna.

Here, one of the pilot organisms will be the quarantine species, Unaspis citri. The pilot organisms will be identified by two separate groups employing different disciplines (morphology and molecular tests). The results of both groups will be joined and discussed as part of an integrated diagnostic workflow. While the online session is accessible for all, participant numbers for the on-site training are limited to 6 participants for the morphological part and 4 participants for the molecular part.

PT 2026 - SPODOPTERA FRUGIPERDA LARVAE

From 01 May 2026 to 30 November 2026

The first PT on the morphological identification of Spodoptera frugiperda (code 26SFM) at the larval stage will be organized from May to November 2026.

Organisation format: sequential PT

The calendar of the PT is available in the table here below.

Communication with participants is ensured by e-mail and via the LEILA platform (https://leila.anses.fr/)
